Sediment Control

The following Best Management Practices (BMPs) are for Sediment Control. The goal of Sediment Control is containment and control of sediment once dislodged and in motion. The use of an organic filtering material, such as compost or variable size wood fiber, allows the particles to accumulate within the filtering device. These devices use a certified FilterMedia™ within mesh tubing to allow the proper flow-thru rates while filtering sediment and solids.

Compost berms such as FilterBerms and the EcoBerm™ are also used for sediment control and filtering. For the EcoBerm™, an additional tackifier compound (EcoBlend™) is added for shape retention and additional particle filtration.
